Seven years of straight-talking service in Nairobi

Forgebswift is a local business, run by Nairobi people, for Nairobi people — and that will not change.

Who we are and what we actually do

Forgebswift is a Nairobi-based local service business founded in 2017. We handle maintenance, installations, inspections, project coordination, and product supply for residential clients, landlords, and small to medium enterprises operating across the city. Our team of eight permanent staff covers the CBD, Westlands, Kilimani, Kasarani, Embakasi, and Langata zones, and we take on engagements in surrounding areas by arrangement. We are not a franchise or a remote-managed platform — every team member is based in Nairobi, knows the neighbourhoods, and is reachable by a direct phone number. Since 2017 we have completed more than 600 individual service engagements and currently hold twelve active recurring contracts with property managers and SMEs across the city. Our founding principle was straightforward: do what you say, turn up when you said you would, and charge what you quoted. Seven years in, that principle is still the thing clients mention first when they refer us to a friend.

How we work — and where our limits are

Every engagement starts with a clear scoping conversation — in person, by phone, or over email. We ask direct questions, document what we have understood, and send a written quote before touching anything. Work is carried out by named team members, not anonymous subcontractors, and every completed job closes with a written record. Our approach is what clients describe as slate-professional: structured enough to be reliable, but direct enough that you always know who to call and what to expect. There are things we do not do: large-scale structural builds, full electrical rewiring, or complex HVAC systems fall outside our scope and require licensed specialist contractors. If your project sits on that boundary, we will say so clearly at scoping rather than taking a job we cannot complete well. Results also depend on honest information from the client side — an accurate brief produces an accurate quote; a vague brief introduces risk on both sides. We would rather spend an extra twenty minutes on scoping than return for a second visit that could have been avoided.

“I have worked with Forgebswift three times over two years — a maintenance job, an installation, and a full property inspection. The consistency is unusual for a Nairobi provider. The same level of care every time, and they always close with a written summary I can actually file.”
